Course & Class Description
Taster SessionA full hour of hoopdance with a warm-up, main section ( when we learn some tricks & come up with a little routine) and a post-workout stretch. These sessions were designed so that they are easy to follow even if you have never hooped before.
One-off events - so no commitment to sign up for a course, if you liked it you can join the course which is usually at the same time every week in the same venue.
For complete beginners who need to find out if they like hooping, the class environment, the instructor...
Be prepared: the following day will be agony: if you need to sneeze, you will need to change nappies! Our abs are not used to working for a full hour and aches are common. Those who bruise easily might experience some bruising which won't come back if they carry on hooping.
Level 1 course
10 weeks
The basics of hoopdance will be introduced gradually so participants can learn moves and tricks which when linked together will look really spectacular. This is a skill, so be prepared that it will take some brainstorming and practice to master the moves but at the end you will be doing things you never thought you could. The more one practices, the better she/he can get. The whole body will go through a transformation: muscles start to appear that you never knew you had and each class will soak you in sweat. The hour will fly quickly...
For those who have tried hooping at least once and think they are happy to sign up for a few-weeks' course to get to be better at hoopdance and get fit in a fun environment with a playful activity.  &
Level 2 Course
10 weeks
The course is preparing individuals for a flawless performance incorporating complex moves. Here we practice Level 1 moves and introduce some more advanced ones as well as focusing on building strength, stamina and improving technique. This is the time to put some music on, pick a hoop up and entertain not only ourselves but others - indeed, at this stage anyone is ready to perform.
Only for those who completed a Level 1 course or attended several casual classes previously.

Level 3

Course

10 weeks

This course is going to incorporate the moves one learnt during level 1 & 2. There will be few new moves still to make routines different but the main focus will be on troubleshooting & applying your knowledge to move better in your hoop(s). You will find that I will be hooping less - if I do that will be for troubleshooting & demonstation - more attention on individuals & space for creativity. More balance & stetch exercises, too as part of conditioning for your level 3 experience.

Only for those who completed a DSHoops level 2 course already!
